Kayla Lewis

Kayla Lewis is an NYC-based vocalist and pure singer — originally from New Orleans, Louisiana. A classically trained soprano, she brings together rigorous vocal technique, theatrical instincts, and deep roots in the jazz and soul traditions of her hometown.

She holds an undergraduate degree in Music Liberal Arts and a graduate degree in Classical Vocal Performance from NYU (2021), where she developed her soprano voice into a versatile instrument spanning legit/classical, jazz, and musical theater styles.

Kay is best known for creating and starring in Belle Noire — a theatrical concert tribute to Black jazz icons including Billie Holiday, Eartha Kitt, Lena Horne, and Dorothy Dandridge. The show blends live jazz, tap dance, vintage costuming, and cinematic projections, performed at venues like Ashé Powerhouse Theater.

A triple threat comfortable in television, online multimedia, dance, voiceover, and concert performance, Kayla self-records using an Audio-Technica microphone with Pro Tools First, a pop filter, and an isolation shield — making her ready for remote sessions and auditions from anywhere. She holds a driver's license and passport and is available to travel for projects.
